GIA Represent Pres-Vac in APM 2012

GIA was the proud exhibitor for Pres-Vac PV valves at APM 2012. A hugely successful exhibition, we had a very good booth right at the entrance of the door of the exhibition floor.

About APM
Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) isa bi-annual exhibition in Singapore, showcasing the latest in marine engineering and port technology.
Held in MARINE BAY SANDS from 14 – 16 March 2012, it was the biggest Marine exhibition in Singapore and had over 900 exhibitors. See link for more about APM

 

Maritime Protection AS Signs GIA

New letter of Authorization with Maritime Protection AS for the Permea Inert Gas Systems and Generators.

GIA has been representing Air Products AS since early 2009. Following the split of Maritime Protection AS and Air Products AS to concentrate on different areas of the Inert Gas Systems product ranges, GIA nows represent both company for their systems.

GIA begins ISO Journey

GIA signs deal with Lloyd McGill Pte Ltd to commence ISO 9001 Accreditation.

Scheduled to start in the end of the year, GIA will begin the journey to become ISO9001 certified. GIA will begin its internal preparation and hopes to get auditing done by early 2012.

 

The ISO9001 will help GIA better position the company as a reliable vendor for inert gas systems and pressure vacuum valves for ship-managements, Shipyards and EPCs. It will also help strengten the company as a trusted service repair center and agent for many marine equipment makers under its wing.

Kangrim Appoint GIA as Official Singapore Service Center

Kangrim Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, the leading Korean Maker of Marine Inert Gas Systems and Generators, appointments GIA as their Singapore Service Center for their IG systems.

Kangrim has been producing and supplying its own inert gas systems (flue Gas) and inert gas generators since early 2003 and have almost a 1000 vessels using their systems in the few short years. The growing demand for their systems makes it necessary for them to expand  their service networks beyond Korea.

Goh IGS & Automation Pte Ltd (GIA), a Singapore based engineering company founded in 2001, has been servicing other brands of IG system, with the Kvaerner/ MOSS IG systems as the main brand. GIA experience in the MOSS systems makes them a strong and well-equipped vendor to service vessels with the Kangrim IG Systems.

“We are honored for this official appointment,” says Mr Goh, Technical Director at GIA, “we believe our experiences for the last 10 years will come very useful for ship-managements with the Kangrim IG Generators.”

Continuing GIA good reputation as a reliable and well-established vendor to Singapore ship-managers, GIA is confident to be able to assist Pres-Vac Engineering in its global out-reach to customers to provide after-service support for their PV valves.

17th July 2009 Fri 0700hrs to 2400hrs

Left Office to Airport for Sri Lanka Colombo and arrive Galle port joint vessel at the late evening.

 18th July 2009 Sat 0000hrs to 0300hrs

The sea weather are bad, the Boat was swelling at ship side 6 meter by reading the ship depth marking. Finally I make a calculation and make a good jump and I was lift up to vessel safely. Feeling like Disney land bumpy jump.

17th July 2009 (Friday) 1000hrs (SIN) – 2100hrs(Jakarta) – 1 Service Engineer

Preparing tools and standby for the update from Superintendent Mr. Francis

Travel from Singapore to Jakarta and meet up with agent to hotel at 2100hrs.

Meet up Superintendent Capt. Yusra, at the hotel and discuss problem of the IGG.

Difko Vessel at Singapore Anchorage

11th September 2009 (Friday)1800hrs – 12th September 2009 (Saturday) 0900hrs.

Preparation for equipments and spare parts and left office to Marina South Pier to board launch to Difko Chaser.

Capacity control circuit checked and found PR2289A was faulty and renew and circuit checked and calibration made.

Fuel oil control circuit checked and adjustment made.

Blower 1 & 2 capacity load calibrated on PR2279.

O2 Analyzer calibration checked and found normal.

Start system on auto station and found system working satisfactory with Ship’s Engineer.

Tanker Visit at Singapore Anchorage

23rd September 2009 Wednesday 0900hrs to 1900hrs

Left office to Marina South Pier for vessel.

Found out from electrical officer that the system was unable to run full capacity.

Test the signal from the main panel found signal in working condition, but the valve was not open/close accordingly.

Found that the blower outlet valve actuator air leakage, so cause the valve able to operate properly.

GIA Updates O2 Analysers

In pace with recent development of makers, GIA have reviewed and decided to use the Green Instruments O2 Analyzers as the default O2 analyser for all works on IG systems and IG Generators.

The G35 O2 Analyser is proven to be reliable and accurate for use by GIA engineers on various vessels. It has also been recently adopted by many of the IG makers themselves.
